Coach SB is world-famous for his "Training That Makes Sense" philosophy. He doesn't waste time on fluff or decorative moves. He breaks down the micro-details of footwork and body control so you can translate everything you learn in practice directly into winning real games.
Education & Playing Background:
Former U-SPORTS Varsity Guard for the University of British Columbia Okanagan (UBC Okanagan).
Led the Lester B. Pearson Patriots to the Division 1 Senior Boys Basketball City Championship in 2017.
Holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from UBC Okanagan.
Coaching Background & Development Philosophy
Coach SB founded SB Basketball Training to bridge the gap between drill repetition and competitive game execution. Combining his background in Mechanical Engineering with high-level playing experience, he approaches basketball training with a distinct, analytical focus. He breaks down footwork mechanics, spatial geometry, and weight-transfer deceleration into systematic, digestible micro-skills.
"Training That Makes Sense": His curriculum eliminates non-functional or "decorative" moves that fail under tight defense. Every drill focuses on game situations, defender leverage, and high-IQ decision-making.
Global Reach: In addition to in-person skill clinics and private sessions in Calgary, Coach SB operates the SB Basketball Online Academy, delivering virtual training programs to athletes worldwide.
Athlete Base & Client Profile
